OPEN MUSEUM broken home, /Studie/
OPEN MUSEUM broken home, /Research/
Renting of an abandoned property close to the central station and placement of a semi-open and public cube. Prior to this, the place is a visible indicator of bad investments. The social reality in the station district shows that in public places mainly residents and passersby with broken biographies are located. A latent collectivity is reflected only in a lived tolerance. At the same time, there is an exponentially growth of costs for housing and business space is to be determined. More and more, the dominance of a few is applied to the public space. This is why an equally contradictory and conflictual public life takes place here: world politics, neo-liberalism and its transformations are quickly reflected in this micromilieu.
The areas of the fallow, which were overgrown with green during the course of the year, were recycled and temporarily used as a place of retreat for two years by urban residents.

Christoph Faulhaber: World Expo // Bilder einer Ausstellung
In his solo show at Open Museum, Hamburg, Christoph Faulhaber is presenting his new project: The Palau Triptych.
The center piece (Blue Sky – Palau) is a documentary movie shot in Palau. In November 2009, six ex-detainees from the US Prison in Guantánamo Bay have been released to Palau, which is known for its sparkling water, shiny beaches and beautiful diving spots. Faulhaber traveled to the tiny island nation of Palau in the South Pacific to visit the six men, which are part of the uighur minority in western China. He interviewed their Australian interpreter and his Excellency, the President of Palau.
