Redesign of Migrantpolitan’s in the spirit of Bauhaus: „light, air and sun“, recyclability, circular economy & adaptation by the artist collective Baltic Raw Org. A temporary, transformable building fits in with the group dynamics through reconstruction. And not the other way around.
Becoming and passing as a constant flow characterizes the place. So now again a new face: like phoenix from the ashes.
It has become a biophilic building that provides opportunities, shelter and food for all living creatures, makes contact with its environment and offers itself as an active part of it.
The 4 different sides of the façade alone emphasize the heterotopic place as a multifunctional and polyphonic meeting space. Below, on the front there is a misappropriated BRDuDDR border fence, around the corner a vertical edible green façade spreads out, the back wall as full mirroring reflects its counterpart, while the transparent shell on the last side protects and makes visible the modular building structure. The partially green roof provides food and shelter for cats and insects and offers a selection of flowering medicinal plants.
Refurbishing
Neugestaltung des Migrantpolitan´s im Sinne des Bauhaus: „Licht, Luft und Sonne“, Recycelbarkeit, Kreislaufwirtschaft & Anpassung durch das Künstlerkollektiv Baltic Raw Org. Ein temporäres, wandlungsfähiges Gebäude fügt sich durch den Umbau der Gruppendynamik. Und nicht umgekehrt.
Ein biophiles Gebäude ist es geworden, das allen Lebewesen Möglichkeiten, Unterschlupf und Nahrung zur Verfügung stellt, mit seiner Umwelt Kontakt aufnimmt und sich als aktiven Teil dessen anbietet.
Allein die an 4 unterschiedliche Fassadenseiten heben den heterotopischen Ort als multifunktionaler und polyphoner Begegnungsraum hervor.
- Front: ein zweckentfremdeter BRDuDDR-Grenzzaun,
- Nordwand: eine vertikale essbare Grünfassade
- RückSeite: als Vollverspiegelung reflektiert sein Gegenüber,
- Schattenseite: eine transparente Hülle, die die modulare Baustruktur schützt und sichtbar werden lässt.
Das teils begrünte Dach bietet Nahrung und Aufenthalt für Katzen und Insekten und bietet eine Auswahl an blühenden Heilpflanzen.
